About
A Security of Payment Act service built and run by Archer Lawyers.
SOPA Claim Check helps builders, subcontractors, suppliers, developers and principals across NSW understand and act on their rights under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 1999.
Whether you're preparing or responding to a payment claim, considering adjudication, or trying to recover money you're owed, this site is designed to give you a clear, fast starting point — plain-English guidance, real examples, and a direct path to advice from a lawyer who handles this work every day.
SOPA Claim Check is a service of Archer Lawyers, a Sydney-based legal practice. Every enquiry through this site is reviewed personally by Archer's principal, Matthew Armota.
Archer Lawyers is a focused legal practice advising and representing clients in property and construction disputes, planning and compensation matters, and serious medical negligence claims.
The firm acts across six core areas: Building and Construction, Strata and Community Title, Planning and Environment, Property and Development, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, and Medical Negligence. Archer acts for individuals, businesses and property stakeholders — landowners, developers, builders, owners corporations and strata committees — and for patients and families.
Every matter is overseen personally by the firm's principal, from the first call through to resolution. Archer only takes on matters where there's a genuine opportunity to improve a client's position, and the people advising you are the people running your matter.
